Don’t allow just anyone to cover your patio!
For over thirty years, Patio Covers have withstood the ultimate test – the severe cold of the Canadian prairies and the constant rain of winters in the Pacific Northwest. Thoroughly tested and passed with flying colours, Patio Covers come with a 20 year warranty and are now available throughout North America.
When shopping for a patio cover, keep in mind that a high quality cover should exceed your expectations in two areas – strength and ease of cleaning. Our Patio Covers use 28% more metal then similar products allowing for a significant increase in strength and durability. That added strength makes cleaning much easier – you can actually stand on the roof without fear of denting the metal or, worse, falling through.
Our aluminium pan roofs are a long lasting, durable patio cover requiring very little maintenance. They help keep the house cool in the summer and aid in preventing seasonal weather damage to decks and verandas. Best of all, these roof systems are designed to incorporate either full-length acrylic or glass skylights so more natural light comes into your house to keep it from developing a cave-like feel.
Be comfortable and secure in your purchase with the knowledge that the Energy Doctor in Edmonton will be there for your home for many years to come!
Patio Cover Options
Aluminum Pan Roof - A strong durable cover requiring very little maintenance. It will keep the house cooler in the hot summer months. To prevent turning the house into a "cave", skylights can be included with the aluminum pan roof, particularly over existing windows so that natural light still comes into the home. The various attributes of the different glazing materials for skylights are listed below.
Insulated Foam Panel Roof - This roof, comprised of foam panels sandwiched between aluminum skins and connected by thermally broken "H" channels, provides "R - 10" insulation for a strong low maintenance roof.
Glass - Single or double glazed safety glass. This can be used as skylights or as a complete roof. The glazing system is engineered to allow free spans that are complimentary to either the insulated foam panel roof or the aluminum pan roof. Low "E" or other light and heat resistant glass is available, although quite expensive in safety glass forms.
Double Skin Acrylic - A structural skylight or complete roof product with excellent "UV" properties which is available in clear (higher than glass light transmission), bronze (nominal "UV" transmission but still approximately 50% light transmission), and "cool top" white (10% light transmission) for sunny climates particularly on south or west facing applications. These various sheets can be intermixed to control light availability over house windows or simply light within a solarium. The acrylic is an extruded product so skylights are available in virtually any length and unlike glass are continuous in two-foot wide applications. |
